On 4th August, one of the most important Hip Hop acts EVER are reunited in full force at the o2 Academy in Brixton with Mastakilla, GZA, RZA, Inspectah Deck, Method Man, Ghostface, U-God, Raekwon, Mathemathes, Cappadonna and Streetlife. Oh, and me on the warm up DJ set duties…and I’ve got some tickets to give away.I have 2 pairs of general entrance tickets to give away. This competition is JUST for the entrance tickets. You will need to be over 18, be able to make your own way to and from the o2 Academy in Brixton and even pay for your own drinks (U21s require I.D to purchase alcohol by the way).

To be in with a chance, leave a reply below answering these 5 Wu related questions:

1) What is the name of the first Wu Tang Clan album?
2) What Wu song contains the lyric “I bomb atomically, Socrates’ philosophies and hypothesis can’t define how I be droppin these mockeries”
3) Which member of the Wu is also known as the ‘Wally Champ’ due to his love of Clarks Wallabees?
4) Late WuTang member Ol’ Dirty Bastard was known earlier in his career under a different name. What was that name?
5) Tiebreaker: What is the best solo Wu Tang album?

Make sure you put your current email address in your reply. Competition closes Sunday 1st August. The 2 winners (of a pair of tickets each) will be notified by return email by 12 noon on Monday 2nd August. GOOD LUCK!

Check out some amazing pictures from MistaJam's Glastonbury 2010 experience

MistaJam – Glastonbury 2010, originally uploaded by Rodrico.

Yesterday I decamped to arguably the most well known festival in the world for the very first time – Glastonbury. Being a Glastonbury virgin, I didn’t really know what to expect. Tales of mud, hippies, the cow dung mixed with dirty people aroma, drugs and rockers as old as dinosaurs on every stage were so far from my reality, it seemed like I was at a different festival to the one I’d seen on the TV oh so many times.

Stationed at the East Dance village for the entire day, the weather was a positively Mediterranean 26 degrees with no mud in sight and rather than ageing rockers; the line up read like a who’s who of the British “Urban” (in ” ” for a reason) scene at this moment in time: Tinie Tempah, Chipmunk, Scorcher, Skepta, Bashy, Donaeo, N Dubz, Ras Kwame, Giggs, Roll Deep and of course me. Adding a little Yankee to the proceedings were Kelis and Chiddy Bang. Milling around backstage was the likes of Professor Green, Luke Monaghan, A&R extraordinaire Benny Scarrs & CJ Beatz.

Bar the Yanks, 3 years ago we’d have all been backstage at a half full 500 capacity sweaty underground nightclub. Yesterday we were backstage ready to perform on the biggest “Dance” stage in front of a 5,000 (tent) capacity crowd at the world’s most famous festival.

My boy Rodrico was there to capture the day on camera. Take a look at his favourite shots here.

As a warm up to his highly anticipated album “Outside The Box”, everyone’s favourite Croydonian Dubstep producer called Ollie Jones has this morning treated us all to a free cheeky lil’ zip folder of a few of his recent tunes and remixes via his twitter

Among the 4 free absolute smashers in 320kbp quality is the Daily Dose of Dubstep favourite I’ve been rinsing since February ‘Pitfall’

Both Benga and I dropped “Pitfall” in Fabric on Friday night. Both times it caused dancefloor devastation however if you’re more of a melodic Dubstep fan, versatile Skream has got you covered too. In the zip you also have his dubbed out remix of the Dead Weather’s “Cut Like A Buffalo”, a cheeky 2 step bootleg mix of Robin S’ “Show Me Love” and the atmospheric sub troubling ronseal track ‘minimooool’

Download it for free here (sendspace)

Here’s hoping he wakes up every day in a good mood!

Congratulations to pioneering London Underground music station Rinse FM for securing an FM radio license earlier this week. An important step in the development and growth of the Underground British music scene.

Big up to all the staff, DJ’s and behind the scenes names that made it happen and well done to Ofcom for finally awarding them the license. I personally hope that now all those like minded DJ’s, station managers and programmers from all stations both legal and pirate, public and commercial can all work together to continue to push things FWD>> rather than working against each other (which, lets be honest, would be BKWD<<).

Way back in the mists of time (November 2009), Scorzayzee’s “Luv Me” was my Jam Hot and we were told it would be ‘aaaht soon’ (which is Notts for out soon)…

Fast forward to 26th July 2010 and you’ll finally be able to get your hands on one of the most honest and real pieces of British rap music for decades. Look, they’ve even done a video…

Check out Episode 6 aka the Season 1 finale of No Hats No Trainers and learn what YOU need to do if you want to see a Season 2...

Here’s your guide to No Hats No Trainers episode 6 aka the season 1 finale. As we currently don’t know whether there is ever going to be a Season 2, this could be the last time you catch a new No Hats No Trainers episode on your TV.

So if you caught World Cup fever and watched some match between 2 countries you normally wouldn’t give a toss about instead of episode 6, redeem yourself by watching it on the iPlayer here.

Giggs, Tinie Tempah, Mz Bratt, Tian Moses, The Cut Magazine, Scorcher, Big Boi and many more were in the last episode but if you want to see a season 2 of what is the only credible terrestrial TV outlet for music, fashion, sport, comedy and culture from our world, we need your help:

Here’s that link to watch it on the iPlayer again – get as many people to watch as possible. Ratings show there’s a demand for the show that does things like this on BBC 2 on a Saturday afternoon:

Let’s continue to try and get “#WeWantNHNTSeason2” trending on twitter. The power of the World Cup, Justin Bieber, Jason Deadrulo and Pixie Lott has TT’s in a stranglehold as I type. We had a load of RT’s – even a lot of artists who were featured in the series tweeted (and a lot who were featured didn’t even mention us) but thank you to all those who did.

If you’re on facebook, like and interact with the No Hats No Trainers page. The more people active on the page, the more of a case we have with the powers that be that there should be a second season. The Lemonade Money crew (the production company behind No Hats No Trainers) have promised there will be exclusive video content on the facebook page soon – a bit like this…

We had 6 episodes that were 23 minutes each to showcase a large amount of both established and up & coming artists, comedians, genres, scenes, sports and fashions and we showcased a lot; however there was a lot we didn’t get to cover. If you’d like to see more, now you know what to do: show there’s a demand. If you don’t, and I’m especially talking to those artists here that constantly moan there aren’t any outlets for them: STOP MOANING.
